The Cardiff is the essence of what a small multiplier should be. Strong, responsive and easy to use it is built with a die-cast aluminium frame and a machined aluminium spool for strength. The reel's responsiveness lies in Super Stopper anti-reverse as well as a high 5.8:1 gear ratio perfectly suited to fish lures which require a high-speed retrieve and instantaneous hook sets. Complete casting control is achieved thanks to Shimano's Variable Brake System (VBS).

The Shimano Cardiff was specifically designed for casting and trolling mid-heavy and heavy lures. The Cardiff features the famous Hagane body, aluminium frame and a machined aluminium spool. The 4+1 A-RB ball bearings and VBS makes this reel extremely smooth and enables you to make smooth casts. The line guides ensures perfect line lay. The star drag is very precisely adjustable and has a maximum drag of 10lbs.
